When you have kids, one of the best tools you can have is a playground designed specifically for their age group. This is going to be your go-to place anytime your child is feeling even the slightest bit restless. Luckily, we have some great ones around here, and I’m going to help you find them! As a Chicago family photographer, I love working alongside parents to plan sessions that let them remember every blessed season. Here are the playgrounds around North Shore I always recommend!
939 Green Bay Road, Winnetka, Illinois 60093
If you are looking for the best playground destination throughout warmer North Shore days, Hubbard Woods Park is going to be for you! While it’s great all year long, the splash pad has made this one of my favorites throughout the summer. The bathrooms are also pretty nice, making your breaks so much easier.
850 Clavey Road, Highland Park, Illinois 60035
Kennedy Park is one of the newer playgrounds in North Shore! This location is filled with equipment designed for kids as young as one. The ground is covered in soft rubber, offering a safe and mess-free surface ideal for smaller explorers.

125 Central Ave, Highland Park, Illinois 60035
If you want a fantastic playground without any of the crowds, Central Park is going to be your new favorite place. This one is fairly small with engaging equipment ideal for kids ages 2-10. It’s always my recommendation for parents with multiple little ones!
563 Washington Place, Highland Park, Illinois 60035
If your North Shore little one is obsessed with trains, Kennedy Park is about to be your new favorite playground. Designed for kids ages 2 and up, this park features all-new equipment that lets your child pretend to be a conductor racing down the track. Plus, it’s built right next to an actual train station, so you’ll get to see a few real trains during your time here.

Lincoln Dr & Old Green Bay Road, Glencoe, Illinois 60022
Duke Park is another great playground for managing siblings in North Shore. The primary part of this area features a playground designed for kids ages 2-12. Once the weather starts to heat up, they offer a hand-crank train as well as an interactive water feature ideal for keeping cool.
2700 Trail Way, Highland Park, Illinois 60035
Danny Cunniff Park offers a little of everything, including walking paths, pickleball courts, a baseball diamond, and fishing. The playground is one of the best spots for those kids who love to climb! Your child can navigate all the monkey bars before tearing down the slides.
If you have been looking for the best spot to spend a few hours this morning, I really think you are going to love these playgrounds in North Shore. No matter which one you pick, your child is going to have the best time ever!
