Cancer can be an incredibly isolating road. From the first diagnosis through every treatment, it can feel like no one understands what you are experiencing. If you could use a community right now, the best thing you can do is find a cancer support center where you can connect with others going through a similar journey. As a Chicago family photographer as well as a cancer survivor myself, I love working with clients to find the spaces I know will be there for them. If you are looking for cancer support centers in Chicago, here are the ones I now recommend!

They offer both remote and in-person support all over the greater Chicago area for absolutely no cost.

The Cancer Support Center has five different kinds of programs to support you throughout your cancer journey. With this team, you can focus on nutrition, education and networking, body image, fitness and physical wellness, and counseling and stress management. You will be able to select from virtual support as well as regular events created to give you a community. This program is available for no cost thanks to funds from generous donors!

Gilda’s Club Chicago was founded in remembrance of Gilda Radner. They work with everyone to provide free care and support. Their support groups go across a wide range of concerns, with options like Young Women with Breast Cancer, Gastrointestinal Cancer Support Group, Caregivers Support Group, and Men’s Cancer Support Group. Additionally, this center offers group healthy activities, creative arts classes, individual counseling, and children’s and teens’ activities. With several area locations, you will be able to find the spot where you feel at home.
If you could use some guidance through your fight, I think you are going to adore these cancer support centers in Chicago. With all four, you will have a space with judgment-free assistance.
