The Advent season is such a special time. While we spend so much of our lives rushing from one place to another, Advent gives us a way to stop and reflect on The One who gave us everything. It’s our chance to set time aside and prepare our hearts and minds for the greatest gift of all. What is Advent by Candlelight
Advent by Candlelight is an incredible event that gathers women together to give them time to reflect on Christ. As a mom myself, I know how busy this season gets for us as we rush from one store to another, buying the perfect gifts or preparing the best meals. Often, we turn into Martha, so concerned over vacuum lines or kitchen prep that we forget to see that the greatest gift is already here in our homes!
During this service, you will have a vigil mass, a reflection led by a guest speaker, and time to connect with others. It’s the ideal way to pluck yourself out of the chaos and reconnect with your community. You’ll also break bread, share dessert, and chat over your faith. As a Chicago family photographer and a devout Catholic, I have had the opportunity to participate in several events across the city. Each year, the Moms Club at East Lake Academy puts on an Advent by Candlelight event where you can learn how to prepare your heart this season. This year, I will be there to share my personal story about my faith!
Lydia Institute

Lydia Institute is an amazing organization that has enriched my life and my Catholic faith so much! I will be there to photograph their Advent by Candlelight service at Holy Name Cathedral, where they will have prayerful reflection, stillness, and music. I highly recommend checking them out!
Saint Clement Parish

Divine Mercy

Divine Mercy has an annual Advent By Candlelight each year at their Sacred Heart location. You can purchase a ticket and come enjoy drinks, food, and fellowship with other women.
The Church Of The Holy Spirit

The Church of the Holy Spirit hosts their Advent by Candlelight service at the very beginning of each season. You can bring along an appetizer or a dessert to share, as well as a donation for the North Chicago Community Partners Family Care Closet.
