This Chicago beach is one of Chicago’s oldest and largest parks, and more than 1,000 acres of the beach are wholly made from landfills. Not only can your family and kids enjoy the beach, but a dog-friendly beach is located at the north end of the beach. At the south end, a dune habitat houses endangered plant life, so you never know what kind of animals you may see! The park is open every season (Memorial Day to Labor Day) from 11 am to 7 pm when a lifeguard is on duty. Montrose Beach is a great way to spend the day soaking up the sun with the family.
